Thank you for visiting my web site. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a few details about my background and professional experiences.
I was born and raised in Richmond and graduated from George Mason University in 2007 with a BA in Global Affairs with a concentration in Asian Studies. I know Richmond, and the surrounding well. It amazes me how much the city has been built up in just the last few years. It's exciting to think what the next 10 years will bring.
When I was a Sophomore in high school at Douglas Freeman, I began my studies of Japanese. I was fascinated with the history, culture and language. I was even fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go study abroad in the summer of 2001 to Japan in the Kosai region in the Shizuoka district. What amazed me is the city was much like Richmond was at the time, to the culture shock was minimal. My host family was amazing, I'll never forget them and I still want to go back one day. After high school I decided to continue my education in Japanese while at George Mason University, attending group functions in the Nippon Maru group, we had Japanese exchange students and we all had a lot of fun.
After college, I decided to try and teach English in Japan so before that I thought it would be best to get some real teaching experience done. So in the school year of 2007-2008 I substituted for Henrico County Public Schools for all grades K-12. I also taught 2nd Grade for the Temple Beth-El Religious School on Parham Road. Unfortunately there was such high demand to teach abroad in Japan, I was not accepted, but the experience was invaluable.
Since then I have been working in the family business of American Lock & Key Co. My father is the owner and President, Barry Wilson since he started the company back in 1978. The level of professionalism, dedication and work ethic him and his team provide is unparalleled to any locksmith in the state. When buying a new house and wanting to rekey the property, it is highly recommended that you use a premium locksmith with high security premium products, not just what is the cheapest.
In the last year I have helped him in the renovations of a few of the family properties that we are renting out. In that time I have learned the ins and outs of what it takes to build a home. I now know what to look for when inspecting a home for when you want to make sure you're buying quality, not just a pretty picture.
